Selected Portfolio

Here are a few examples of websites I have designed and some of the unique features of each project. I've also chosen to highlight the length of time I have worked with each client; I want to emphasize my commitment to building long term relationships.

While these sites demonstrate some of what I can do, the portfolio is a sample, not a comprehensive list. So even if you don't see what you're looking for, please don't hesitate to contact me and we can develop a site that meets your needs.

The Mnemosyne Project

http://www.mnemosyne-proj.org

March 2008- present. I redesigned The Mnemosyne Project website. This included moving the original website into Drupal, the open source content management system, while keeping the original look and feel. Additional improvements included:

  • HTML and CSS were optimized for the best search engine performance.
  • Users can now register for an account and upload their card collections and descriptions to the website. These can later be edited. The list of user-contributed card collections is automaticaly generated from a database.
  • Documentation can now be edited by the documentation team; they are able to collobarate on the same pages and all changes are automatically saved as revisions, meaning that any mistakes can easily be undone.
  • Visitors can now add comments to the site on selected pages.

Adoption in Child Time

http://www.adoptioninchildtime.org

1999- present. For ACT (Adoption in Child Time), I recently completed a redesign of the entire website in order to optimize it for search engines, especially Google. The redesign included the installation of a content management system (CMS) so that ACT organization leaders can now update the pages on their own.

Additional tasks I have performed for ACT over the years include the following:

  • Editing and creating PDF versions of print publications. These PDF documents can easily be downloaded and read on a user's computer or printed for easy distribution.
  • Creating an e-mail mailing list and designing a way for users to easily subscribe or unsubscribe from the list. Also, I oversee the distribution of the quarterly newsletter, taking charge of distributing it to subscribers and posting it to the website for the public.
  • Implementing an online ordering system in colloboration with School Datebooks, Inc., for the Foster Parent Journal, a print publication sold by ACT.

Jude's Teen Romance Advice

http://www.teenromanceadvice.com

2007-present. For this project, I helped transfer a paper love advice column to the Internet. This included adding interactive forums and a book-like page layout, plus site search and detailed visitor tracking. I also set up and manage a Google Adwords campaign to advertise the website.

Amy Arena

http://www.amyarena.com

2007- present. I recently redesigned this website. Before, the layout of the page did not scale properly if visitors' screens were too large or too small. I fixed this and added several new features, including a newsletter, a blog, a simple way to purchase albums, several extra pages of content, and an easy way for the owner to update the site on her own.
